X-Factor singer James Arthur cancels Sheffield gig tonight due to illness
Chart star James Arthur has been forced to cancel a concert date in Sheffield tonight due to illness.
The 2012 X-Factor winner has called off tonight's show at the city's O2 Academy on the advice of doctors.
Taking to Twitter, the 29-year-old star wrote: "Unfortunately I have been unwell for the last couple of days and have now been advised by my doctor that I need to be on voice rest which sadly means that I can no longer perform tonight at Sheffield O2 Academy.
"I am so sorry for anyone that has bought tickets for this evening."
The Impossible and Say You Won't Let Go singer has rescheduled the concert for May 29, when tickets for the original show will still be valid.
Anyone unable to attend the new date will be entitled to a full refund.
He added: "Huge apologies again for any inconvenience caused and can't wait to see you in May."
His debut single Impossible debuted at number one on the UK Singles Chart in its first week of release. Since then, it has gone on to sell over 1.4 million copies in the UK, making it the most successful winner's single in the show's history and has sold over 2.5 million copies worldwide.
