Repairs have begun this morning on St Sepulchre Gate in front of the Frenchgate Centre, Doncaster Council bosses have announced.

A spokesman said: “From Monday, 10 August, we’ll be starting improvements works underneath the canopy adjacent to the Frenchgate Centre, along the whole length of St Sepulchre Gate from Printing Office Street to High Street.

"The work will improve both the look and accessibility of the area, as well as improving the drainage channel in the area which is badly in need of repair.

"Work will take place Monday – Friday as well as Sundays.

"There’ll be no works on a Saturday and any businesses potentially affected will be communicated with.”

The street is one of Doncaster’s busiest shopping throroughfares and underwent pedestrianisation in the 1990s.
