Women seriously ill after crash outside Doncaster primary school


A MOTORIST is seriously ill in hospital following the three vehicle smash outside a Doncaster primary school.

The woman was taken ill at the wheel of her blue Volvo C70 sport outside Norton School in Campsall Balk. The Volvo, which was heading towards Norton, collided head on with a black Mazda before hitting a blue Peugeot parked outside the school.

The Volvo driver, a 66-year-old from the area, was treated at the scene and taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary. Her condition deteriorated and she was transferred to Sheffield’s Royal Hallamshire Hospital.

This lunchtime she was in a serious but stable condition after undergoing surgery to remove a bleed on the brain, police said.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash which happened at 3.45pm yesterday.
