Woman suffers life threatening injuries after Belton assault

Police are currently in attendance at an address on Ashtree Close following the serious incident.

Officers attended the property at 9am and the injured woman was taken to Scunthorpe General Hospital by ambulance.

She is currently receiving treatment for what are thought to be potentially life threatening injuries.

A search was conducted to locate a man in connection with the incident. He was located, following assistance from the police helicopter, in a vehicle on Bristol Road, Scunthorpe at around 9.47am.

The 28 year old man, who is believed to be known to the woman, has been arrested and is in custody at Scunthorpe Police Station.
