The callous crook, donning a pink bobble hat and black clothing, forced her way inside threatened the couple with violence before making off with cash and food items

The incident occurred at around 10.10pm on Saturday, February 10 on Melrose Close in Balby.

The couple were not hurt in the incident but officer said they've been left 'incredibly scared and distressed' by what happened.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "The woman has been described as white, aged around 30-years-old, of a slim build, between 5ft 6ins and 5ft 8ins tall and with black shoulder length hair. She was wearing fingerless gloves, a black jacket, black jeans, black boots and a pink bobble hat.

"An investigation is currently ongoing into the incident and officers are now appealing for witnesses and information.

"Were you in the area at the time? Do you have any information that will assist officers with their enquiries?

Anyone with information is asked to report it via 101 quoting incident number 1172 of February 10.
