A WOMAN was taken to hospital following a crash in Belton over the weekend.
The incident took place on Jeffrey Lane shortly after 7.30pm on Saturday, February 25, and it involved a VW Golf.
A 25-year-old female pedestrian was trapped underneath the car after being hit by the vehicle and all three emergency services were rushed to the scene.
Firefighters from Epworth, Crowle and Scunthorpe helped free the woman and paramedics took her to Scunthorpe General Hospital where she was treated for minor injuries.
The male driver was able to release himself before emergency crews arrived and he was also given first aid.
Police closed the A161 following the collision but re-opened it a short time later.
