The woman was walking with her dogs along Brookfield Close, Thorne, when she was attacked from behind by man at around 8.45pm on Saturday, August 17.

She was pushed to the ground and hit over the back of her head by a man who attempted to steal her 14-week-old Cockapoo and her other dog, a Lhasa Apso.

Man hunted by police over driving offences in Doncaster

The culprit was between 5ft 4ins and 5ft 5ins tall, of a medium build and was wearing a grey top with the hood up.

The dogs were not stolen during the incident but the woman suffered cuts and bruises.

Witnesses or anyone with information should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 and quote incident reference number 805 of August 17.
