Not a lot you’d think.

But it seems the 56-year-old Hollywood star, best known for playing the Earl of Grantham in the ITV historical drama, has become the latest high profile fan of Doncaster Council’s somewhat offbeat Twitter account.

The authority’s social media account regularly attracts attention for its quirky tweets and funny posts – and now the Paddington star is the latest to sing the praises of Doncaster Council on Twitter.

He wrote: “Who would have thought that Doncaster Council’s twitter feed, about fly tipping etc, could be a fount of wit and smarts? Well, it is. Thank you

The MyDoncaster Twitter feed currently has more than 34,000 followers.
