Pub giant Wetherspoons has said it will welcome back customers on April 12 – and has announced 400 of its bars will re-open.

As lockdown restrictions are eased, from April 12, pubs and restaurants can re-open for outdoor services, but customers must stick to mixing rules

The move from the chain, which operates pubs across Doncaster and South Yorkshire, comes after Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced his roadmap out of lockdown.

Tim Martin, the group's chief, confirmed the move today in a statement – meaning drinkers will be allowed to eat and drink outside.
