Weather warning issued for Doncaster

A weather warning has been issued across South Yorkshire as further spells of snow and ice are predicted throughout the day.

The Met Office said a yellow warning is in force for the county because of icy surfaces and heavy snow in several places, which are expected to last until the end of today.

In Doncaster, today’s wintry showers are set to die out this morning and it will be dry and frosty later, with temperatures expected to reach a high of 5°C.

Temperatures are expected to plummet towards zero again tonight but it is expected to remain mainly dry with clear spells ahead.

Scattered showers are expected to develop through the early hours, which may be wintry inland as temperatures drop to -2°C.

On Wednesday, it will remain cold but generally dry with overnight frost or freezing fog patches which may be slow to clear.

There could be some isolated, wintry showers.
