Warning issued after suspected cash machine fraud in Crowle

Residents are being warned to check their bank accounts after reports of fraudulent activity at a Crowle cash machine.

One resident noticed 30 £1 transactions had been taken from his account after using the cash machine at Co-op in Market Place and posted on a Crowle Facebook site to alert residents.

After speaking to his bank the resident was told his card could have been cloned.

He posted on the In Crowle Facecbook: “I don’t mean to alarm people but anyone that has used Crowle’s Co-op to withdraw money in the last couple of days I urge you to check your account ASAP.”

A spokesman for Humberside Police said: “Police have been made aware of alleged fraudulent activity in relation to a cash machine in Market Place, Crowle.

“The operating company has been made aware and are taking steps to look into the claims to establish whether any offences have taken place involving the location.”
