Do you have time on your hands, need to be part of a worthwhile project, need to be valued and challenged, enjoy new things to do, meet new people and make friendships, or just come and chat to us instead of the four walls?

Who are they?

ASCL, having successfully saved the centre from closing three years ago, is now being run by volunteers as a not for profit social enterprise. We’re proud to say we have a viable centre with lots of opportunities for people who might want to volunteer.

Why volunteer?

The main thing is – if you are looking for employment it helps to build a portfolio of activities on your CV, if you are retired it helps fill in spare time and feel valued and most importantly you can be part of a worthwhile project which is really making an impact, on not only the local community but also across DMBC and South Yorkshire. It gives a structure to the week where you know you will receive a warm welcome.

What can you offer?

We have specific vacancies for volunteers but always welcome people who may not really know what they can offer. Our philosophy is that everyone has life experiences and skills to share that will help you feel good about yourself, whilst helping the centre to develop.

If you’re retired, just how many rounds of golf would do this? How many coffee mornings catching up with friends? Commitment can be as little as you want, on a regular or irregular basis to suit you. Come and talk to staff at the centre, either at their volunteer open morning on Monday February 15 at 10am or call on 01302 710415, or call in at the centre at your convenience.
