The M18 was shut between junctions four and five yesterday morning for a police incident – but officers refused to say why.

Now footage has emerged of what appears to be a collision between a police vehicle and a dark coloured car on the roundabout exit and entrance to the motorway at junction four at Armthorpe.

Footage filmed by a passing motorist shows a police patrol car with its front bonnet crumpled while the clip also captures a car having smashed into safety barriers, with damage to the rear of the vehicle.
