Video shows aftermath of Doncaster police car 'collision' which closed motorway
This is the aftermath of a serious road ‘collision’ involving a police car which closed a motorway near Doncaster yesterday.
The M18 was shut between junctions four and five yesterday morning for a police incident – but officers refused to say why.
Now footage has emerged of what appears to be a collision between a police vehicle and a dark coloured car on the roundabout exit and entrance to the motorway at junction four at Armthorpe.
Footage filmed by a passing motorist shows a police patrol car with its front bonnet crumpled while the clip also captures a car having smashed into safety barriers, with damage to the rear of the vehicle.
Debris is also shown strewn across the carriageway.
The motorway was closed for around half an hour yesterday morning before finally being re-opened at around 11am.
South Yorkshire Police refused to provide details of why the road was closed when contacted by the Free Press, beyond describing it as a ‘police incident’.
