VIDEO: Santa-hat wearing Christmas crooner back on Doncaster streets

An elderly, colourful Santa-hat wearing crooner has been entertaining Doncaster Christmas shoppers - by singing and dancing to a string of hits in front of bemused bypassers.

The singer, who has been spotted several times around the town centre in recent months and who has been drawing looks from shoppers of all ages, has now returned in seasonal style.

This time he took a spot outside the former Walkabout pub in Priory Walk with a microphone and amp to blast out songs in his own unique manner.

The entertainer took up position in the town centre this lunchtime and treated passers-by to songs such as The Power Of Love by Jennifer Rush, When You Walk In The Room by The Searchers and Hero by Enqriue Iglesias.

Assistants at nearby shops were spotted giggling as the man, dressed in a raincoat and festive hat, swivelled his hips and danced along to his songs.

Other shoppers simply stood and watched the performer while others filmed and took pictures on mobile phones with some younger shoppers laughing or joining in with the performance.

Earlier in the year, he was spotted belting out Englebert Humperdinck’s Please Release Me, jiving along to the song in a cowboy hat and brightly coloured waistcoat.
