VIDEO: Epworth man in North Lincolnshire’s first gay marriage

They waited 22 years, but on Saturday Epworth man Alvin Robinson and Kevin Middleton became the first gay couple to wed in North Lincolnshire.

The couple married at Scunthorpe Registry Office then held their reception for 200 guests in the Isle, on the historic day.

Both men hope that many more couples will now follow their lead. They said that marriage is important, that everyone should have the same rights, and that this was what they had always wanted. Civil partnership, to them, was “meaningless”.
