Doncaster Knights' scrum earned plenty of plaudits at Headingley last weekend in their 30-17 play-off semi-final win at Yorkshire Carnegie.

Tight head prop Colin Quigley has admited that it was nice to get the upper hand at scrum time against the Carnegie pack.

But the experienced operator says that he and his teammates will need to be at their very best again in Sunday’s return leg at Castle Park to secure progression to the play-off final.

Quigley said: “Obviously we want to get on top but they’ll be hurting and they’ll be mad keen to show what they’re made of and put it right from last week.

“We know this weekend if we turn off at all they’ll be back in the game, so we’re hoping to make a quick start.

“We need to go into it thinking it’s 0-0 and if we win the game we go through.

“Don’t get me wrong, it’ll always be in the back of your mind that you’ve got a cushion.

“But ideally you want to win the game and stride on to the final.”
