Counters are busy tallying up your votes at Doncaster Racecourse this evening, as people across the borough wait to hear whether Labour will retain its stronghold.
When polls closed at 10pm Labour, led by Doncaster North MP hopeful, Ed Miliband, were predicted to win 239 seats, while the Conservatives are expected to take 316.
Doncaster is expected to call at around 4am, and while there are not any official turnout figures yet - it is believed that around 80 per cent of the some 60,000 postal votes have been returned.
The Free Press also understands that some Doncaster polling stations have had to request extra ballot boxes, due to an unexpectedly high turnout.
