The Yorkshire Pie House gave hungry eaters the chance to test themselves against the ultimate scoffing challenge - a mammoth meat and potato pie weighing up to 2.7kg.
Scores of brave hopefuls signed up for the Man v Pie contest at the Silver Street eatery - but so far no-one has managed to wolf down a full plateful of the colossal culinary treat within the one hour alloted timescale.
The fun challenge is the brainchild of owner Andy Milner, who was inspired by the Man v Food television programme where presenter Adam Richman tackles gargantuan dishes across the globe.
Recently, more than a dozen diners took on the challenge and challengers will have to go some to beat current leader Paul Roidl, who gulped down a gut-busting 2,378g of pie in just sixty minutes.
* Anyone can sign up for the challenge, but must give at least 24 hours notice. Contact the Yorkshire Pie House on (01302) 364507 for details.
