The fighters stunned drivers and bus passengers when a Saturday night bout at the O2 Academy spilled out onto Arundel Gate.

Wrestlers Drew Galloway and Jack Jester can be seen grappling in the middle of the busy road as fans cheer on the antics from the safety of the pavement.

A bus packed with passengers crawls slowly past the amazing scene while a taxi and another car are forced to drive around the lycra-clad wrestlers who had been appearing at the Insane Championship Wrestling event at the popular nightclub.

Then, the pair continue their dust-up to gasps from bystanders with Jester and Galloway moving to the pavement - before one of the duo is slammed face first into a wall.

The crazy scenes were captured on camera and video by fans and in the clip - which has been uploaded to video sharing website YouTube - can be heard booing as the impromptu street scrap comes to an end before the crowd begins chanting "Let's All Go To West Street" and urging the fighters to continue their battle.

However, the ICW Fight Club event is known for outrageous stunts and there have been similar bouts in the past where wrestlers have spilled out onto the streets to the delight of fans.

A post on the ICW page said: "Tonight in Sheffield, the issues between Jack Jester and Drew Galloway couldn't be contained in the ring, with the two former ICW Heavyweight Champions battling to the streets!

Galloway himself wrote on Facebook: "One thing was clear before this match began. The O2 Academy Sheffield was never going to be big enough to contain the level of emotions running."

The photos were captured by photographer Kevin Wells who in 2015 became an overnight sensation when he gave American rap stars Public Enemy a lift to a gig in his Ford Focus.
