A woman has been left with ‘serious and possible life changing injuries’ after a crash between a Porsche Cayenne and a lorry in Doncaster.

Officers were called to junction 36 of the A1 in Warmsworth around 11.35pm last night to deal with the collision.

Fire crews also attended the scene to cut the woman, aged 45, free from the car.

It was initially said that the motorist suffered minor injuries but the situation changed when the woman was taken to hospital, police have said.

The driver is still in hospital at this time.

A long strech of the road was closed off for several hours as emergency services dealt with the incident.

SYP Ops Support initially tweeted: “Porsche Cayenne on A1 J36 last night, collision with HGV. Caused long delays. Minor injury.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Officers were called to reports of a collision on the A1M north at about 11.35pm last night.

“It is believed that a HGV and a Porsche Cayenne were involved in a collision between junction 35-36.

“The road was closed while the incident was dealt with and was reopened at about 4.20am this morning.

“Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 1245 of 18 February.”
