Two new shops open at Doncaster's Waterdale Shopping Centre

The redevelopment of a formerly rundown Doncaster shopping centre is continuing to gather pace after two businesses opened new shops at the site.

Little Zebra, which specialises in designer baby and children’s wear, and gaming and comic shop Vault 14, have launches new outlets at Waterdale Shopping Centre.

This latest move follows a previous announcement about a year ago that 11 leases had been agreed with other stores.

Regeneration specialist St. Modwen bought the 46-retail unit site for more than £3.6m a few years ago and said this latest announcement was a continuation of their regeneration plans for Waterdale.

Paul Brustad, asset manager at St. Modwen, said: “This is all part of our ongoing work to attract new retailers in order to continue to revitalise and improve the centre.”

Little Zebra, managed by not-for-profit organisation, Open Cast, has opened at 29 Kingsgate after signing a five year lease.

Vault 14, located at 30 Kingsgate, has signed a three year lease after moving premises from Scot Lane in the town centre.

Bob Dowling, development manager at Open Cast, described the move as a “fantastic opportunity to get involved with the development of a vibrant and successful new Waterdale Shopping Centre.”

Shaun Ward, owner of Vault 14, added: “We are looking forward to being part of the continued regeneration of Waterdale.”
