Two men have been charged after being caught in a car with a gun and drugs.

The pair were stopped and arrested by police in High Melton, Doncaster, earlier this week.

They have been remanded until February 25 when they will appear at Sheffield Crown Court.

Roads policing officers stopped a silver coloured Vauxhall Meriva on Melton Mill Lane at around 2.30pm on Tuesday, January 26.

Officers searched the car and recovered a bolt action rifle and ammunition, 15 wraps of cannabis and a quantity of amphetamines. Both men, who were in the car, were arrested at the scene.
