Tributes to popular Doncaster DJ

Hundreds of friends and fans have spoken out following the sudden death of James Vaughan - better known as DJ Vorny.

The 35-year-old DJ who died on Monday performed regularly at Doncaster’s Warehouse nightclub in North Bridge Road and at club nights across Yorkshire.

Warehouse club manager Stuart Walker said this weekend's events at the club had be cancelled and instead a fundraising event would be held on Sunday to raise money towards DJ Vorny’s funeral.

He added: “It is with great sadness that we have today learnt of the passing away of one of The North’s leading DJs and Producer, James Vaughan(Vorny)

“Vorny was an icon of the northern dance scene and a massive part of Full FX and Doncaster Warehouse events.

"His talent was instrumental in driving forward fresh sounds to fans of the U.K. dance culture. He was a versatile entertainer who could play any kind of set from old skool to the freshest upfront beats.

"Vorny had many friends within the tight knit northern dance scene and was respected through out the UK and Internationally for his music productions and live DJ sets.

"Vorny as a person was a warm, articulate and friendly person who always had time to talk to anybody.

"His big smile and cheeky infectious character will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure to spend time with him. Our thoughts and condolences go out to his family and friends at this very sad time. "

Mourners have started laying floral tributes to the DJ outside the Warehouse club.
