Travellers have set up camp in a car park at Doncaster’s Keepmoat Stadium – the latest in a number of camps set up across town in recent days.

A number of cars and caravans descended on of the stadium’s three car parks yesterday.

One photo showed that travellers had erected a washing line near to the complex’s athletics stadium track.

The latest camp comes after groups of travellers were criticised after leaving behind human faeces, soiled nappies and junk at other illegal camps across Doncaster

A group of travellers came under fire after reportedly breaking into Sandall Park and driving vehicles and quad bikes around the old golf course area of the park.

Volunteers and Doncaster Council officials had to mount a huge clean-up campaign after the area was left covered in human excrement.

And in a separate incident, a site on the former Benbow pub in Armthorpe Road was also left covered in faeces after travellers set up camp on the site.
