Third Maltby horror crash victim is named

The family of a 76-year-old Doncaster woman killed in a three-vehicle collision have this afternoon paid tribute to her.

Police have now named Wendy Park, of Doncaster, as the third crash victim, which occurred on November 26 just yards away from Maltby colliery.

Wendy’s family have described her as “a kind, caring and fun-loving lady who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.”

Hatfield woman Diana Hunt, 58, and 66-year-old Barbara Twigg, of Doncaster, were also killed in the collision.

At the same time, a man driving a black Ford Focus was travelling in the opposite direction on Tickhill Road, away from Maltby and towards Tickhill.

Close to the entrance with Maltby colliery, the two cars and a van, believed to have been leaving the colliery, were involved in a collision.

The driver of the Focus, a 28-year -old, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The male driver of the van was not injured.

South Yorkshire police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or may have information is asked to 101 quoting incident number 913 of November 26, 2015.
