Rail users warned of delays following incident in Nottinghamshire

Rail users in have been warned to expect delays following an emergency incident in Nottinghamshire earlier today.

National Rail Enquiries said emergency services are currently dealing with an incident at a level crossing between Doncaster and Retford resulting in all lines being blocked.

As a result of this, trains may be cancelled or delayed by up to 120 minutes, with major disruption expected until at least 7pm.

Customers are also advised not to travel or to defer their travel if possible.

They may use their tickets dated today for travel on Monday, November 23 as there will be no trains to and from London Kings Cross this weekend due to major engineering works.

It is understood that a major incident occurred in Babworth earlier this morning, where ambulances were sighted and the main rail was closed.

British Transport Police and East Midlands Ambulance Service have been contacted for more information.
