Rail delays ended as broken down train removed from 'blocked' Doncaster to Wakefield line

Rail passengers faced delays this morning – because the line between Doncaster and Wakefield was blocked.

But rail officials say services are back to normal after a broken down train was removed.

LNER said on social media this morning the northbound line between Doncaster and Wakefield Westgate was blocked and trains may be delayed. It added: “LNER apologises for any inconvenience to your journey this morning.”

National Rail has now stated: “Trains are now running normally following a broken down train between Wakefield Westgate and Doncaster.”
