A motorist was seriously injured in a crash in Rotherham today.
The 22-year-old Barnsley man was driving a black Volkswagen Polo which was involved in a collision with a white Ford Transit van on Bawtry Road, Brinsworth, at 6.35am.
Police closed the road while emergency services dealt with the aftermath of the smash, which happened around 50 metres away from the junction with Brinsworth Grange.
A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “It is reported that a black Volkswagen Polo and a white Ford Transit van were involved in a collision in Bawtry Road, Brinsworth, around 50 metres from the junction with Brinsworth Grange.
“A 22-year-old Barnsley man driving the Polo was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
“A 27-year-old man driving the Transit suffered minor injuries.
“Did you see the collision?”
Witnesses should call South Yorkshire Police on 101.
