Man hurt in Doncaster hit and run

Police in Doncaster are appealing for information and witnesses to a collision which left a 24-year-old man needing hospital treatment after the driver failed to stop.

The incident happened in the early hours outside Jobcentre Plus on Wood Street, Doncaster.

It is thought the man was standing partly in the road trying to hail a taxi when a silver coloured estate car with private hire plates allegedly struck him causing arm and leg injuries..

The driver of the vehicle failed to stop, continuing in the direction away from Doncaster town centre. The man was taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary but was later discharged.

It is believed that two men stopped to assist the injured man but left the scene before police arrived.

Police are appealing for these men to come forward as well as anybody else that may have witnessed the incident, which happened at 12.20am on Saturday, April 23.
