AN injured driver had to be cut free from his wrecked car after it lost control in a Doncaster country lane.

The silver Peugeot rolled over several times before landing in a field off Stainforth Road near Barnby Dun.

Firefighters used cutting equipment to rescue the man, believed to be aged in his 30s, from the car.

He was taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary with a back injury.

Police said his injuries are not thought to be life threatening or life changing.

Emergency services were called to the scene around 3.30pm on Saturday.

The road was closed to traffic before re-opening at 5.15pm.
