M1 crash: Traffic at a standstill and drivers face LONG delays after serious rush-hour collision

Traffic is at a standstill on the M1 after a serious collision near Sheffield this morning.

Emergency services are dealing with a smash on the southbound stretch between Junction 31 for Aston and 32 for the M18.

Highways England said the road is closed between both junctions and South Yorkshire Police has also announced that the southbound M1 cannot be joined from the M18.

Traffic is building on the M1 after a serious collision between Junctions 31 and 32

Details on the nature of the collision being dealt with have not yet been released.
