Jaguar crashes into barriers on M1 as police warn drivers over rainy conditions

One car ended up on its roof on the M18 and a Jaguar crashed into the barriers on the M1 in South Yorkshire, amid treacherous conditions for drivers.

Police warned last night of numerous collisions on the region’s motorways due to motorists driving at an ‘innapropriate speed’ and aquaplaning in the heavy rain, which is forecast to continue throughout today, Thursday, July 9.

"There is a great deal of standing water on the motorway and local roads,” said officers.
