Isle residents rush to register to use new flexible bus


Already, 311 people living in the Isle of Axholme have registered to use the new Call Connect flexible bus service since it launched earlier this month.

Isle residents registered free to use the service that will connect people and places in the Isle and further afield.

There is no set route and no set times like a normal bus service. Anyone can use the bus – it operates between 7am and 7pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 6pm Saturdays.

There is no minimum number of users; so long as you have booked, the bus will pick you up.

Concessionary fare passes are accepted on the Call Connect buses.

Councillor Julie Reed, cabinet member for adults and families at North Lincolnshire Council, said: “This is a fantastic response and goes to show the need for the service. The new bus connects people and places and provides a lifeline to many – particularly the elderly. It is open to anyone and is very flexible, fitting in with when you want to travel. The bus picks you up close to home, providing a much more flexible service.

“We are delighted to have invested in this fantastic service that will benefit so many Isle residents.
