First announces changes to South Yorkshire bus timetables for Christmas

The travel firm has announced its full list of dates when services will finish early and when routes will not be running at all over the festive period.

The special timetables will run between December 21 and January 2.

A spokesman for First said: “Wherever you’re going, whatever you’re doing this Christmas, we’ll do everything in our power to get you where you want to be the safe, clean and uncrowded way.“We'd like to wish you a very happy and safe festive period, and thank you for your understanding, patience and support over the past year whilst we have continued to deliver essential journeys.”

To help travellers, these are the planned services the firm intends to operate over the festive period.

up to Sunday 20 December – normal service

Monday 21 - Wednesday 23 December – Saturday sevice

Christmas Eve, Thursday 24 December – Saturday service, finishing early*

Christmas Day – No service

Boxing Day, Saturday 26 December - Limited service (to be confirmed)

Sunday 27 & Monday 28 December – Sunday service

Tuesday 29 & Wednesday 30 December – Saturday service

New Year's Eve, Thursday 31 December – Saturday service, finishing early*

New Year's Day – Limited service (to be confirmed)

Saturday 2 January onwards – Normal service resumes
