Road closures and diversions will be put in place while resurfacing work takes place across the county - including in areas of the Isle.

Over the next few weeks North Lincolnshire Council will be improving a number of roads by carrying out the repairs.

In the Isle the stretches affected will be:

A18 (King George V Bridge) bridge approaches, between February 22 and 23 February, from 7pm to 6am. The road will be closed whilst the work is carried out.

A18 Station Road, Gunness/Althorpe, from the Jolly Sailor corner to Althorpe Wharf between February 24 to 28 February, from 7pm 6am. Temporary traffic signals will be in place.

Signs have been put up where all the resurfacing works will take place to warn people about the work being carried out.

Letters have also been sent to residents and businesses near the affected areas to give them notice of what work will be carried out.

The council will ensure that disruption and noise is kept to a minimum whilst the essential resurfacing work is undertaken.

Diversion signs will be put in place to direct drivers along an alternative route if a road is closed.

A North Lincolnshire Council spokesperson, said: “We urge all road users to be patient and allow extra time for their journey while the essential road works take place.

“It is important that the roads across North Lincolnshire are maintained to keep them safe for drivers.”

They added: “We aim to keep disruption to a minimum, which is why the majority of the work is being carried out at night. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused.”
