Christmas 2019 bus times: timetables in Doncaster over Christmas and the New Year

Bus services can be under even more pressure, as people make short trips in the days following Christmas to make the most of the Boxing Day sales.

But bus drivers and staff need their Christmas holidays too, and often timetables are amended to reflect a shorter number of staff behind the wheel.

That can have an affect on your travel plans. But fear not, we've brought together the key Christmas information from all of the major players in the Doncaster area, to help you plan your festive travel itinerary as effectively as possible.

Monday 23 December

Monday to Friday services will be operated by Arriva, Powells Bus (service 18 Doncaster - Dinnington only).

Saturday service on all other operators services with the following exceptions:

Additional early morning journeys will be added to the Saturday service operating on all First services in Doncaster.

Stagecoach - Additional early morning journeys will be added to the Saturday service operating on the following services: 1, 6, 12, 20, 21, 21a, 22, 27, 27a, 28, 59, 66, 95, 219, 219a, 220, 221, X10 and X20.

Services 21, 22, 25, 27, 29, 98 and 99 in Doncaster will operate as a Monday to Friday service.

Christmas Eve

Saturday service with last departures between 5.30pm and 7.30pm with the following exceptions:

Arriva - Monday to Friday service with an early finish.

Powells Bus - Monday to Friday service with an early finish.

TM Travel - Monday to Friday service with an early finish.

Stagecoach - Operating services to and from XPO Logistics for shift times.

Hulleys of Baslow - Normal Monday to Friday service.

Christmas Day

No services.

Boxing Day

No services with the exception of:

First services X1, X5 and X55 will operate a special Boxing Day service with latest departures between 4pm and 6pm.

Friday 27 December

Saturday service with the following exceptions:

Powells Bus - Service 5 will operate as a normal Friday service.

Saturday 28 December

Saturday service.

Sunday 29 December

Normal Sunday service.

Monday 30 December

Saturday service with the following exception:

Powells Bus - Service 5 will operate as a normal Monday service.

New Year's Eve

Saturday service with last departures between 1730 and 1930.

The following exceptions apply:

Powells Bus - Monday to Friday service with the exception of Service 5 which will operate as a normal Tuesday service.

TM Travel - Monday to Friday service with last departures between 5.30pm and 6.30pm.

Stagecoach - Operating bus services to and from XPO Logistics for shift times.

New Year's Day

No services, except for Stagecoach operating bus services to and from XPO Logistics for shift times.
