First South Yorkshire said this evening, Monday, November 30, that its 116 service was being diverted until further notice.

The operator tweeted at around 5pm: “Due to multiple acts of attempted vandalism against our services (operated by Doncaster Depot) at the junction of Vale Road & Park Lane, we are now diverted via Oldgate Lane / Hollings Lane / Vale Road (under the bridge) / Link Road / St Leonards Avenue / Link Road / Vale Road (under the bridge) / Hollings Lane to / from Ravenfield in both directions until further notice.”

First South Yorkshire has yet to give any further details about what form the attempted vandalism took and whether any buses were damaged. It is not known at this stage when a normal service is likely to resume on the route.
