A 24-year-old has been found fatally injured in a car in a roadside ditch in Doncaster, police have revealed today.
The man was discovered in a silver Vauxhall Astra in a roadside ditch, off Oak Lane, Sykehouse.
A passing motorist who spotted the car and stopped at the scene found the motorist at around 6.20pm yesterday.
It is not yet known how long the car had been in the ditch before it was discovered.
A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “A witness appeal has been launched following a fatal collision in the Sykehouse area of Doncaster, in which a 24-year-old man died.
“At around 6.20pm on Tuesday 24 November, a passing motorist discovered a silver Vauxhall Astra in a roadside ditch off Oak Lane, Sykehouse.
“A 24-year-old man inside the vehicle suffered fatal injuries.
“It is believed that the Astra may have been travelling in the general direction of the A614 Selby Road but it is not known how long the vehicle was in the ditch prior to being discovered.
“Police would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the vehicle prior to the collision or anyone who may hold information.”
