A busy Doncaster road has fully reopened after a police incident, which unconfirmed reports on social media suggest involved an injury to a pedestrian.

Balby Road was closed outbound near the White Church this evening after what bus companies described as a police incident.

One Free Press reader reported on our social media page having seen an incident that appeared to involve an injury to a pedestrian. Another reported seeing a stretcher. Police have yet to confirm any details of what happened in the incident earlier this evening.

Stagecoach tweeted 30 minutes ago: “Balby road outbound of Doncaster is back to normal route for service 221.”

Buses were earlier diverted after the rush hour incident, with services by two bus service operators, Stagecoach and First, affected by what had happened. Two of First routes were affected, along with of those operated by Stagecoach

South Yorkshire Police have been approached for more details about the incident.
