"After Anthony died I think she just wanted to die," Mark said. "I just think she made that choice and he was her baby.

"She just stopped eating and she just gave up. She wasn't living the happiest of lives and she was heartbroken.

"She often just sat in her room talking to him and she wouldn't visit his grave because she didn't think he was there - she thought he was still at home."

More than £1,000 has already been raised for Campsall-based Mr Pidcock while a previous fundraiser following Anthony’s death raised more than £6,500.

Anthony, known to pals as ‘Piddy’ died in his sleep on August 4 last year.

Friend Harry McGuinness said: "We just didn't expect it because we were all at the pub a couple of days before.

"He was close to everyone. He was always happy, never sad and he always made everyone laugh.

"He had one of those personalities where you just knew if he was in a room. He just made everyone so happy. He was bubbly, always joyful and it's just such a shame."

A new fundraiser set up by Mark's friend Lee Parker has raised in excess of £1,000 and Mark is grateful at the support shown by friends and members of the public.

"We were partners so we were sharing the responsibility of bills ad now I've got to take them on myself," Mark said.

"We miss her so much and haven't had time to grieve because we've had lots to sort out. I know I need to stay focused and we'll get through this.
