Traffic stopped as emergency services deal with incident on A1 north of Doncaster

Traffic has been stopped on the A1 near Doncaster this morning as emergency services deal with a serious collison.

Vehicles have been halted on the northbound carriageway between Barnsdale Bar and Wentbridge and Darrington.

Highways England said that police, ambulance and fire crews were all at the scene.

A spokesman tweeted: “There are 30 minute delays on the approach above usual journey times, spanning three miles. Average speeds on approach are less than 10mph.”

The road has been closed at the junction with the B6474.
