Three Doncaster organisations clinched top spots in a national awards ceremony which celebrates the best activities throughout the UK.
Sonique Fitness, Cask Corner and the Doncaster and Bassetlaw Kidney Association were all celebrated at the Whats On 4 Me UK awards do in London.
Whats On 4 Me is a UK-wide events and activities website for adults and children - and each year they encourage members of the public to vote for the most outstanding organisations they have used.
Bev O’Sullivan, who runs the Yorkshire franchise of the website with her husband, Brian, said: “We’re thrilled that What’s On 4 can provide such a prestigious platform to reward such worthy activity and event providers from around the UK.
“The winners and runners up are totally dedicated to making a difference to people’s lives, and we’re extremely proud to be associated with them all – particularly as so many of them are from our home town of Doncaster.”
Sonia Smith from Sonique Fitness in Doncaster was runner-up in the ‘Most Inspirational Coach, Instructor or Tutor’ category. This was the most hotly-contested for category, with over 90 nominated coaches/instructors. Sonique Fitness was also one of the top five in the ‘Best Sports, Health or Fitness Group’ category.
Cask Corner and Bordello Cocktail Lounge was the runner-up in the ‘Best Entertainment, Celebration or Event Provider’ category and was also a finalist in the ‘Best Music, Arts or Crafts or Events Provider’ category.
Finally, Doncaster and Bassetlaw Kidney Association is runner-up in the ‘Best Community, Fund Raising or Charity Group’ category.
The awards ceremony at Earl’s Court was attended by more than 200 finalists, guests and VIPs.
