Police have confirmed three people were taken to hospital following a collision in Great North Road at 5pm yesterday.
Two cars were involved in the incident, a Skoda Fabia and a Toyota Avensis.
A man in the Toyota Avensis was taken to hospital with suspected serious injuries although they are not believed to be life threatening.
A woman, also travelling in the Toyota Avensis, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The driver of the Skoda is also believed to have suffered minor injuries in the incident.
The A638 was closed between the junction of Hurst lane and High Common Lane while the incident was dealt with.
