Thieves steal cash and vandalise station waiting room

Thieves have broken into Mexborough railway station waiting room and vandalised a vending maching.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have any information after the waiting room at the station was broken into and two vending machines were extensively damaged. The burglary occurred in the early hours of Sunday, 14 March.

PC Wayne Pikett said: “Three people broke into the waiting room armed with hammers and crowbars. They caused extensive damage to the machines over a period of almost two hours, stealing cash boxes and contents from the machines.”
