One of Britain’s, if not the World’s biggest and best pop bands; The Wanted have announced details of their brand new single ‘Chasing The Sun’, to be released on May 20. Written by Example the track is shaping up to be the early soundtrack to the summer.
It has also been announced that the UK debut TV performance of ‘Chasing The Sun’ will be take place on Britain’s Got Talent on May 7.
Scenes of mass hysteria at airports, radio stations, TV studios and live shows are now commonplace for The Wanted wether it be in London or Los Angeles. The band have confirmed themselves as one of the hottest boy bands on the planet following a record breaking Number 3 in the US Billboard Hot 100 Chart, a sold out UK Arena Tour, selling over 2 million singles in the US and second album ‘Battleground’ achieving Platinum Status.
The UK Arena tour, named The Code Tour, was a spectacular success, The Times said, ‘The Wanted are a boy band who trade not on their looks, but on their songs, and many of them were magnificent’. The tour also saw a world’s first with the band producing the first ever interactive tour program.
The band have joined the likes of Coldplay, Adele and Jessie J in flying the flag for British music in the US. They blasted into the official US Billboard Hot 100 Chart at Number 3 with UK Number 1 Single ‘Glad You Came’, the highest ever Hot 100 entry for a British boy band. Following the incredible news the likes of Gary Barlow tweeted their congratulations to the band.
The band have also hit the Top 3 on US iTunes (Number 1 in the iTunes Pop Chart) and Number 1 in the Canadian iTunes Chart.
The Wanted’s incredible rise to stardom in the US has been boosted by support form some of the most influential TV and Radio shows who have taken the boys to their hearts in such a small period of time.
The band have appeared on American Idol, The Voice USA and The Today Show. They have also performed on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Chelsea Lately Show and MTV’s Spring Break in Las Vegas.
Former UK Number 1 ‘Glad You Came’ has had a total radio audience of more than 90 million people, being played on over 160 pop stations. The Wanted are the first boy band to hit the top 10 on the US Airplay Chart since Backstreet Boys.
