Ten things to do in Doncaster

1 Making tracks railway exhibition The exhibition, a collaboration between Frenchgate Shopping Centre, Business Doncaster until March 7. The exhibition is on display at Frenchgate in two units located on the ground floor of the West Mall. Running alongside the main exhibition visitors will be able to meet with several of the companies involved in the rail sector in Doncaster and learn about the work that they do and the opportunities for people in their sector. Featuring historic exhibits including locomotive name plates and pictures of the Silver Link train, signed by Sir Nigel Gresley.

2 Miranda Sykes and Rex Preston Roots Music Club Family In the space of a few short years, Miranda Sykes and Rex Preston have emerged to become one of the most sought after duos on the English folk and roots scene. 3 The Life of Lady Isabella Battie-Wrightson The exhibition, commemorates the centenary of the death of Lady Isabella Georgiana Katherine Battie-Wrightson, one of Cusworth Hall’s most prominent and important residents. The exhibition brings together a fascinating selection of items owned by Lady Isabella from the collections of Doncaster Museums Service, Doncaster Archives and private loans. 4 Archie Fisher at Roots Music Club Go Very much the Grand Old Man of Scottish folk performance. Archie Fisher MBE (born October 23, 1939) is a Scottish folk singer and songwriter. He has released several solo albums since his first, eponymous album in 1968. Fisher composed the song, “The Final Trawl,” which he recorded on the album, Windward Away. 5 Planet Circus the wow factor motorcycle extravaganza Join The world’s most dangerous circus act Team Brazil in The Splitting Globe of Death, with motorcyclists speeding around inside a steel cage at over 60mph.
