Dog walker Leon Summers found the litter dumped at Newlands Park, Cusworth this morning.

He said: “It is worth reminding the idiots to take rubbish home, or at least bag it up.

“Not only is it an eyesore, its potentially dangerous for any wildlife, not to mention any possibility of contamination due to virus for whoever has to clean up after them.

He added: “I was taking the dog for a walk which is when I stumbled across it, others also commented on it. If I had a bag , I would have bagged it up.”

The pictures suggest the group were ignoring social distancing rules.

The park sits in the shadow of Cusworth Hall and is used for junior football matches by Sprotbrough and Cusworth Crusaders Football Club.
