DONCASTER Tesco drivers faced with losing their jobs by Christmas, are taking their protest to the Houses of Parliament on Wednesday.
About 30 drivers will be protesting outside the nearby Tesco Express store in a bid to raise the profile of the dispute with MPs who have offices close by in Westminster.
The demo will coincide with a 72-hour strike starting Wednesday by the 180 Doncaster drivers and Unite members who risk losing their jobs.
The workers are also angry that Tesco had transferred their posts to Eddie Stobart Ltd, claiming the deal will mean their pay and conditions worsen.
Steve Clark, Unite regional officer, said: “The drivers will be taking their case to London on Wednesday to raise the profile of the dispute with MPs and other opinion formers.”
The demo will be held at the Tesco store in Bridge Street, Westminster, between 11am and 1pm.
