Stolen Doncaster dog reunited with owners after being found five months later

A dog stolen from Doncaster has been reunited with her owners – after being found at a house in West Yorkshire five months later.

Lola was snatched from a house in Stainforth before Christmas – and her owners feared she had disappeared for good.

But according to a Facebook page aimed at helping owners traces missing pets, Lola is now back home after being discovered at a property in Bradford.

A post on Lost and Found Pets In Doncaster - Team Houdini said: “Remember Lola stolen in a targeted burglary in Stainforth last December?

"The owner got a call today from the police. Located in a property in Bradford and returned to owner.”

The dog was chipped which helped lead to her being found.

Dog thefts have increased massively across the UK during the coronavirus pandemic, with gangs using vehicles to threaten owners and snatch dogs from off the streets and gardens.
