Former England star Rio Ferdinand has been spotted in Sheffield - and had time to pose for pictures with football fans ahead of the Steel City derby.

The ex-Manchester United defender stopped to chat to a group of Sheffield United fans near the Sainsbury's supermarket in Arundel Gate.

Rio caused a bit of a stir in October last year by predicting - wrongly - that Sean Dyche would become Everton manager and Blades boss Chris Wilder would move over to fill the assumed vacant spot at Burnley.

United fans took to Twitter to state their belief that Wilder would not leave the Blades to take another job.
